Mary, our Mother

God gave us Mary at the foot of the Cross to be our spiritual mother.  Some thought that devotion to Mary would diminish our love for God or for the Son of God, Jesus.  On the contrary, Christianity has prospered where there is strong devotion to Mary.

It’s true we all need a mother.  And in the spiritual sphere God in all His wisdom has given us one: Mary, the mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ.  The Son of God became man through the womb of the Virgin Mary, by the power of the Holy Spirit.  She is a help to us in our way to eternal salvation as we fight the temptations around us.  In the book of exorcists, even the devils recognize the power and role of Mary. Even devils at times say through the mouth of the possessed that the “boss” is Mary, somehow to indicate her prominent role.  Nobody denies that.  Of course, all Catholics recognize such prominence only in association to Jesus and as His Mother, as such being called in the Catholic Church the “Mother of God.”
